New YMCA in South Montgomery County
Plans for a New YMCA in South Montgomery County have been announced. The new YMCA is slated for the Falls at Imperial Oaks subdivision, near the Grand Parkway.
According to the director of media relations for the YMCA , construction on the Holcomb Family YMCA may begin in 2018 depending on funding. An estimated $13 million will be needed to complete construction of the facility.
“A YMCA is vital to this growing area,” Jim Holcomb said. “It will provide thousands of young people and families a safe and nurturing place to play, learn and grow. By giving families access to programs that promote youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility, the YMCA will make this community even stronger.”
The demand for a new YMCA is great due to the large influx of people to the area. The new YMCA in South Montgomery County is to be constructed on a 10-acre tract of land in the Falls at Imperial Oaks. The new facility overlooks a 100-acre lake. The property was donated by 830 Investors, Ltd., which is the Holcomb family’s partnership.
